We present the final result of the workshop The Venues of Matera 2019; a project of Matera 2019 and the Open Design School that explores places with potential to host events in the next European Capital of Culture.

The exposition recounts the big mapping campaign, focuses not only on the historical center of Matera but also on its peripheral areas and the region Basilicata as a whole.

With around 400 venues mapped, the project provides both technical and visual information of each place, showcasing their potential. According to the principles of open culture, The Venues of Matera 2019 works with open source software to display the studied venues as dynamic points on a digital map.
