Workshop with Mario Cresci
"Ideas are born if you look at things from the inside". (Ideas come to mind if you approach things from the inside) In the words pronounced by Mario Cresci, there is the meaning of the workshop that took place at the Open Design School of Matera, a few weeks ago.
Through a fruitful exchange of ideas with the master of graphic design and Italian photography, we began to think, coordinated by Joseph Grima, on the possible configurations of the exhibition I-DEA that will open in March in the Paradiso quarry, near Matera. Mario Cresci will take care of the preparation.
The marvel began with the presentation of the archives and objects to be exhibited and continued with the discovery of an original Leonardo Sinisgalli and of his creative genius lent to the Pirelli tires commercial, a visionary and entertaining animation film able to excite today.
Cresci has unveiled the great research work carried out during his long stay in Basilicata made of signs, symbols, suggestions, traditions, contrasts, objects and "anthropological measurements" that represented the basis of the first design sketches for the preparation of the exhibition.
The photographer showed enthusiasm for this first comparison with the Open Design School, useful to define the guidelines on which to set the design and the story to be told in the exhibition.
In December Cresci will return to Matera to write with us a new chapter of this story that will soon be shared with the whole city and with the public that in 2019 will reach the European Capital of Culture.
