Workshop: Responsive Space, applying Arduino systems and interactive installations

Directed by Luca Acito and Costantino Rizzuti in collaboration with Open Lab Matera

Location
Le botteghe (Piccianello Market), Via Marconi, Matera

Participants
High school and conservatory students, musicians, creative artists and craftsmen. Max participants: 15

Goal
The basics of physical computing, introduction to interactive logic, introduction to the use of microcontrollers (arduino/raspberry pi), real time sound processing, creation of audio environments – upgrade of “tufo sonante” prototype (sounding tufo-stone).

Input
Technical knowledge of hardware systems (arduino, raspberry pi, sensory systems) and software (arduino, pure data), creation of a sound map of the Piccianello market, use of audio software in sound processing (audiacity)

Output
Upgrade of “tufo sonante” prototype, interactive musical installation.

Methodology
Hardware and software interface with arduino and raspberry pi, sensor calibration using cap-sensor, creation of audio environments using pure data, recording and sound processing

Agenda
Saturday, 21 January, from 10:00 to18:00.

from 10:00 to 13:00
general introduction and creation of prototypes

from 15:00 to 18:00
