In the ninth edition of Materadio, the party of Radio3, one of the focal points was the Materadio Village, a space for meetings and comparisons set up by Open Design School. Located in Piazza San Francesco, the Materadio Village hosted Materadio's off-site programme, in an open, modular, articulated agora, accessible to everyone and with free admission. The design and construction of the Village of Materadio has been declined in architectural terms with respect to the theme of the 2019 edition of the festival: "the South". Four small pavilions that, gravitating around a central space, define a small square and a real village, dedicated to hospitality and meetings, in which to find the human scale of the community and the real dimension of the story. The architecture was conceived and self-constructed in the workshop of Casino Padula, home of the Open Design School, using wood, a natural material already successfully tested for the Umbrian Festival Universo Assisi. In the logic of reversibility on which the research of ODS is based, the installation of Assisi has been partly transformed for the creation of the Village that, at the end of Materadio, has given further life to a new urban community space in the garden of Casino Padula on the occasion of FUSION - Urban Games Festival.
